520 |a This study aimed to identify the effect of using summarization and thinking aloud strategies to improve speaking and reading aloud skills among learners of Arabic language in Malaysia. To achieve the objectives of the study, several arabic Ianguage learners from University Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) in Malaysia have been chosen to participate in this study. The study sample consists of (45) students, they are then divided into three groups; the first experimental group consists studied the Arabic language using the summarization strategy, the second experimental group consists of (15) students studied the same material using the thinking aloud strategy aloud and the control group consists of (15) students studied using traditional method of teaching. Two tests have been used in this Study; the test speaking skills (pre and post) and the reading aloud test (pre and post). Resuts of the study indicate significant differences at (a=O.05) due to the instruction strategy use of those taught through summarization strategy in the speaking and reading aloud tests and and significan differences at (a=O.05) in favour of those taught through thinking aloud strategy in the speaking test. The findings resulted in no significant differences found in favour of the experimental and control group where think aloud strategy is used to improve the reading aloud skills.
