Dietary intake and sedentary behaviours were known to be the determinants of obesity, as too much dietary intake and longer time spent in sedentary activities increased the probability to be obese. There is an emerging body of evidence that obesity has in general been linked to low quality of life in children. Therefore, the aim of this present study is to examine levels and patterns of sedentary behaviour among obese children in Kuala Terengganu using ActivPAL? monitor and to determ ine the associated factors of sedentary behaviour. This study was a cross-sectional study. Eleven primary schools had been selected via convenience sampling. It involved school children aged 9 to 11 years old. Weight, height and waist circumference were measured. Physical activity was assessed using ActivPAL ? monitor for 7 days. Dietary intake was measured using Food Frequency Questionnaire and Health-related Quality of Life was measured using Paediatric Quality of Life Inventory (Malay) version 4.0. A total of 101 0 se primary school children with mean age of 10.02 ± 0.82 years old were recruited in the present study. Paired r-test and independent z-test were carried out to analyse the data using SPSS version 20.0. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to determine the associated factors of sedentary beha jour. The BMI score of the subject was 26.93 ± 3.33 kg/m? while their BMI z-score was 3.01 ± 0.60 SD. Overall, obese children spent 69.6% (11.83 ± 1.48 hours) of their waking hours in sedentary behaviours (sitting / lying), followed by standing (19.1 %) and stepping (11.3%). They were significantly more sedentary during weekends compared to weekdays (12.36 ± 1.79 hours vs. 11.62 ± 1.81 hours; p=O.OO 1). Total number of sedentary bouts was 89 ± 22 per day and the mean length of sedentary bouts was 8.97 ± 5.73 minutes per day. There was significantly more sedentary bouts occurred during weekdays compared to we
