It also discusses the objections regarding takaful insurance and verifies the extent of their academic relevance. Proving the objections necessitates searching for a Shariah alternative that is more compliant than takaful insurance. Similarly, refuting and revoking the said objections supports this type of insurance and increases its merits. After discussing the objections and showing the merits of models founded on the basis of takaful insurance through “the gifting of the reward” and “the commitment to donate”, the study takes the reader to a discussion regarding the model of “cooperative insurance through the endowment system” by presenting what was written by theorists regarding this new model and examining the possibility of applying this model as a backup for cooperative takaful insurance. This is because this new model is actually being implemented by two companies in South Africa and Pakistan. In this study, the researcher used the descriptive methodology to describe the foundations upon which both transactions, cooperative insurance and cooperative insurance through the endowment system, were established. Next, the two were compared and then the results were analyzed to determine the ruling regarding each one in accordance with the Shariah fundamentals and foundations, approved by the scholars, from the Quran, Sunnah and purposes of the Shariah. In this study, the researcher arrives at supporting cooperative takaful insurance through the formula of “the gifting of the reward” and “the commitment to donate” and objecting to the model of “cooperative insurance through endowment”, because it did not come with anything new that can be considered a substitute for takaful insurance as wanted by the participants in this transaction, in addition to its violation some of the purposes of Shariah regarding endowment being a purely philanthropic system. | ||
