Description
Summary:The objective of this study is to give a descriptive analysis of the views of Ishak Haji Muhammad, a prominent Malay nationalist and writer, on the Malay society. His writings before and after Malaysia independence deal with a myriad of issues on the Malays, their language, religion and politics. The researcher adopted a textual analysis method to examine both the primary (i.e Ishak’s novel and articles) and secondary sources (i.e. books and articles) which deal with Ishak’s writings. Both sources are very important in order to understand Ishak’s thoughts and views on the issues on Malay society.
