Description
Summary:This study aims at analyzing the actions of the Prophet in its all aspects: speeches, deeds, and agreements, in order to determine their suitable legal rulings. To realize this, the researcher uses the inductive method in analyzing the Prophetic actions as presented by early scholars like al-Imam al Qarafi, ibn Qayyim al-Jawziah al-Imam Dahlawi and contemporaries such al-Imam ibn 'Ashur, al-Imam Shaltut, al-Buţi and al Qaradawi. By utilizing the analytical-comparative method, the researcher elaborated the various types of the Prophet's actions and the appropriate ruling of each, as well as formulating the researcher’s own interpretation on these approaches. The researcher concludes that the categorization of the Prophet's actions are of significant importance in the process of Islamic jurisdiction and Ijtihad since there is no room to ignore these events and circumstances relating to the Prophet in dealing with the Islamic jurisdiction. A scholar should differentiate between the Prophet's actions as a Messenger of Allah, an Imam (leader) of the Muslim Ummah, a judge, a simple human being and advisor giving his opinions on matters relating to daily matters, apart from the significance of these divinely – inspired events.
