Description
Summary:This thesis aims at analyzing the use of the past tense in surah al- 'Araf. It will seek to show the structure such as introduction, condition and formation derived from triliteral root and quadriliteral root as well as increased triliteral and increased quadriliteral . It also discusses the past tense such as the active and passive, positive and negative structures, intransitive and transitive, including al-sihhah and al-'tilal and the transformation of verbs and its connection to pronouns. The final chapter is a study of the meaning of the past tense in surah al-'Araf. There are many types of meaning of the past tense in order to print out whether they are indicating the past, present, future, near time, distance time, and also indication of the past tense of al-mazidah al-ma'nawiyyah. This study concluded that: the grammarians mentioned that the past tense originally has the al fath diacretes, except that if it connects with pronouns, then the al fath diacretes is replaced with the harakah at the end of the verb. The case of bina’ of the past tense remains the same as al fath. The past tense does not indicate the past only, but it can also mean another time depending on the context and other factors in the sentence. This thesis concludes with recommendations and suggestions of which the most important are two: First, that teaching Arabic language should focus on al Qur’an, al Hadith, linguistic and literary texts in grammar and examples in all aspects of the language. Secondly, to set up a committee to revise the content of books of Arabic grammar in a scientific and comprehensive manner.
