520 |a This study stresses the Arabic vocabulary acquisition among students in Religious Primary Schools, Kuala Lumpur. Descriptive and analytical methods are used to collect data for the study. The objectives of this study are to discover the Arabic vocabulary as stated in the textbooks fixed by JAWI, to know the Arabic vocabulary acquisition among students in Religious Primary Schools, Kuala Lumpur, to investigate the problems that occur during the Arabic vocabulary acquisition process and to find out the factors that can help them to acquire the various Arabic vocabulary. This study collects data and information by distributing the Arabic Vocabulary Test to 220 students from 11 schools and also questionnaires to Arabic teachers. After analyzing the Arabic Vocabulary Test results, only 15.7% of the students acquired almost 720-900 Arabic words. These results indicate that most students basically did not acquire enough Arabic vocabulary that they had learnt in class except the few words especially those who face problems during the acquisition process as discovered by their Arabic teachers. On the other hand, Arabic teachers also must teach them by using various teaching methodologies to help them acquire Arabic words easily as suggested by this study, and not only practicing the traditional language teaching methods. In addition, the schools and teachers should be concern with several factors that affect Arabic vocabulary acquisition among our student which obviously can help them to get more Arabic words. Finally, this study concludes by come out with several suggestions to improve Arabic vocabulary acquisition among students in Primary Religious Schools, Kuala Lumpur.
