Description
Summary:This research aims at studying the features of scientific indications in Surah Fussilat (41) of the Qur'an. The surah contains number of natural signs, such as the heavens, earth, mountains, night, day, sun, moon, stars, rain and so on. The researcher focuses on mountains and rain with some details to link them with the scientific miracles of today. Other natural signs were also mentioned with precise accuracy in the same Surah. The researcher quoted the statements of the natural scientists -from the West and the East- to establish the scientific miracles in the Qur'an al-Karim. The researcher adopted the descriptive, analytical and comparative approaches in dealing with the issue. The study has reached certain important conclusions, such as the following: It is required of a researcher on scientific indications to follow certain principles and rules. All natural signs have unique features that are different from one another; the Qur'an mentions the natural signs in most of the chapters with a clear explanation of their primary functions, roles and significance in the Universe. The study has established the fact that the rain has immense significance, and most of the creations of Allah need water from rain for its survival. The modern inventions of the scientists about the rain's formation and benefits totally conform to what is mentioned in the Qur'an. The study also confirmed the fact that the prime job of the mountains is to strengthen the surface of the Earth and make it firm so that it does not shake and vibrate. It is like pegs that are used to fix and strengthen the tents on the earth. The Qur'anic statements about it totally conform to what is discovered by the modern scientists today in the West and the East. If this proves anything, then it definitely proves that the Qur'an cannot be revealed by any other than the Almighty Allah (swt); it is the Qur'an that the falsehood cannot approach it from the fornt or from behind; it is the revelation from Allah (swt), Wise and Praiseworthy. It is therefore incumbent on Muslim scientists to discover the Qur'anic pearls on various sciences so that the Muslims do not have to depend totally on the Western sciences.
