Description
Summary:The researcher presents an important study on stages of Arabic poetry in Oman which actually started in Busaidiyah state in Oman in 1748 BC/1162 AH. This study covers the mid-13th century AH which coincides with mid-19th century AD (1266AH/1850AD) where the general situation of the poetry is described and the most influential names of poetic production and materials relying on the technical phenomena and objectivity that represent the technical characteristics of the poetry are monitored. The analysis are done on three poets: Salim bin Mohammed Al Darmaki, Hilal bin Said bin Arraba and Humaid bin Mohammed bin Raziq. The basic elements in the Arabic poetry which are poetic purposes, the structure of the poem, the poetic image, the language of poetry, music, rhythm and poetry are studied. This is in the context of the phenomena associated with followership and creativity and what relates to them – present or absent - with excessive workmanship and expansion of marvelous improvement, oppositions, scientific organization, jurist poet's impact and others. The same applies to the changes occurring in the poetic language, meanings and purposes of poetry, and in the structure of the poem, to the discovery of the expansion or decline of these phenomena. The researcher has applied a number of methods most notably the historical method, descriptive approach and analytical method. Induction and comparison were also applied. The researcher also drew references from ancient and modern rhetoric and literary criticisms as well as translated references from other languages and previous studies on poetry. The study concludes with a summary of the important results and recommendations for future studies and reveals the names of several new poetic texts.
