| 520 | |a The purpose of this study is to examine the role of Sheikh Ibrahim Musa of Parabek (1884–1963), a leading figure in the development of Islamic reform movement in Minangkabau in the early twentieth century, with particular emphasis on his contributions to da'wa and education in the region. This study is based on a variety of primary and secondary sources that enabled the researcher to highlight various aspects of Sheikh Ibrahim Musa's life and career. A historical and textual analysis method was adopted by the researcher so as to examine the sources of the study and place the contributions of Sheikh Ibrahim Musa of Parabek in their historical context. The overall output of the study is the influence of Islamic reformism by Sheikh Ibrahim Musa and its contributions towards Minangkabau society. Moreover, this research examined Sheikh Ibrahim Musa's contributions within Madrasah Sumatera Thawalib in particular and the establishment of Islamic education institutions in Minangkabau in general. Thus, by reading the biography of Sheikh Ibrahim Musa of Parabek, it helps us to see in detail the dynamics of the Islamic movement. | ||
