Description
Summary:The primary aim of this research is to discus the issue of women and her political role according to the Holy Qur'an, through two important aspects: the theoretical and the practical aspects. It addresses the Qur'anic discourse of women's work in politics, studies it objectively, highlights the practical realities of the political activity of women, as referred to by the Qur'an through the story of the Queen of Sheba in Surah An-Naml, the girl of Madyan in Surah Al-Qasas, and the women's oath of allegiance to the Prophet, peace be upon him, as the leader of Muslim society, in Surah Al-Mumtahinah in order to draw examples for Muslim women in our time to emulate. This research uses the following methods: inductive approach and analytical approach, by collecting the Qur'anic verses related to the women's role in politics, track them and study what was stated in the books of Qur'anic commentaries to analyze the Qur'anic discourse on the subject, in order to get the practical examples of women's political role. The research reached some significant findings, which includes the following: The word politics and its derivatives were not mentioned in the Qur'an; but the theme, the meaning and the content of politics do exist in the Qur'an. It exists in the Qur'an through the verses of the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, an Islamic obligation which is required for all Muslims, men and women. Women in Islam exercise their political rights, but within the limits and instructions of Islamic Shari'ah.
