總結: | This study examines political insecurity and how that leads to human insecurity in Nigeria between 1999 and 2007. The study answers important questions on political insecurity, its indicators and factors leading to it. The study employs quantitative and qualitative methods to provide an in-depth analysis of the problem. Cingranelli-Richards (CIRI) and Political Terror Scale (PTS) datasets are employed in analyzing the problem under study. Furthermore, the study identifies three major factors leading to political insecurity in Nigeria i.e. clientelism, state weakness and military intervention in the domestic politics. The major conclusion drawn from the study affirms that political insecurity leads to human insecurity in Nigeria. Finally, the study recommends that researches of this nature should be encouraged in the academia and government authorities and Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) should work together in bringing an end to the fatal problem of political insecurity in Nigeria. |
