Description
Summary:This study aims to present the role of parents, husbands, wives, and children based on stories in the Qur'an. The study presents some stories in the Qur'an that are related to families including a discussion on the issues and challenges faced by family members. Subsequently, it offers some solutions as presented in the Qur'an as guidelines for them to deal with their family matters. In addition, the study discusses some of the family issues that are happening in Malaysia such as the problems related to Iman and kufr in family, working women, polygamy and “Transnational Families” and providing Qur'anic solutions to these problems. Using the inductive method, all the Qur'anic verses related to the study are gathered and then analyzed using the analytical method to explain their meanings and extract important lessons from the verses. In fact, the family issues and their challenges may differ based on the changes of time, but the root of the problem is always the same. Thus, the Qur'anic stories are regarded as real stories that provide solutions and practical methods for Muslims to make them realize that all challenges that they face had been experienced by previous generations.
