| 總結: | This study deals with the issue of interaction between Muslims and non-Muslims Southern Thai in their religious traditions in the light of Islamic Jurisprudence. The study concludes that it is unlawful to participate in non-Muslims' Mahrajaniah (celebrations) as it represents their religious symbolism on top of partaking in their other revelries, such as Songkran, Loi Kratung and celebration of the New Year and Teacher's Day. The study, however, found that congratulating non-Muslims during their social functions, such as wedding ceremonies and funeral processions is allowed if one guards against violation of Islamic law. The study also examines the prohibition of behaving like non-Muslims, in terms of appearance or imitating their life style in all its forms and manifestations with the view of preserving one's religion on the basis of the evidences from the Quran, the authentic Prophetic Hadith and views of Muslim jurists. The study also discusses the thorny issue of the nature of relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims as to whether it is based on peace or war. It also deals with the issue of friendship between Muslims and non-Muslim based on the arguments from the Quran and views of the jurists, and thus concludes that it is proper so long as it does not harm Muslims. |
