Summary:This study aims to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and creative thinking and their impact on academic achievement of gifted students in Saudi Arabia. To achieve this objective, the scales of emotional intelligence and verbal creativity (Al-Safy, 1998) were administered to a random sample consisted of (278) students from the first, second, third grades in Fatimah Zahrah intermediate school for the academic year (1436/1437 Hijra). Their age ranged between (12-15) years old. The analyses were conducted using (SPSS) software and (AMOS) as well as (SmartPLS 3.2.4). The results of this study showed that the scales of emotional intelligence and creative thinking met the requirements of construct validity. The results also showed a significant statistical relationship between emotional intelligence and creative thinking, and a significant statistical relationship between academic achievement and creative thinking. Moreover, the results showed a mediator effect of creative thinking on the relationship between academic achievement and emotional intelligence. The study recommended conducting a similar study on a different sample consisting of secondary school students from science and literary streams.
