Description
Summary:Sheikh Muhammad Muhajirin 'Amsar al-Dari, is a renowned religious scholar of Islamic jurisprudence, hadith and the principles of Islamic jurisprudence. In Indonesia he occupies a very high status amongst Muslims, and has a following all over Indonesia, but especially in the city of Bekasi, West Java. He has authored many books, most notable amongst them is Misbah al-Zolam Sharḥ Bulugh al-Maram min 'Adilah al-'Ahkam (2004). In this book, the Sheikh has written a commentary on the hadith found in the hadith collection, Bulugh al-Maram. This book, written by Ibn Ḥajar al-ʻAsqalani, is well-known and many Muslim scholars, past and present, have written commentaries have been written on it. The Sheikh in his commentary wants to restrict the application of these hadiths in contemporary times in spite of the differences in time and place as well as the differences amongst people. The researcher highlights the personality of the Sheikh, discusses his methodology in his commentary on hadith about legal rulings, showcases the position of the Sheikh in his working with weak hadith found in Bulugh al-Maram (even though he does not need them nor agrees with extracting conclusions from them), and do a comparison between his commentary and another commentary on Bulugh al-Maram for the purpose of showing how the Sheikh's book is different from others. The researcher uses the following three research methods. The first method used is the descriptive examination method in which the researcher collects information about the Sheikh Muhammad Muhajirin and the fundamentals in this book, Misbah al-Zolam from references whether they are in books, magazines, or data from the internet. The second method used is the analytical method, which consists of the author will demonstrate the correctness (or lack thereof) of the opinions of the Sheikh. The third method used is the comparative method, this consists of comparing the methodological fundamentals in Misbah al-Zolam with another commentary on Bulugh al-Maram.
