Description
Summary:Shaikh Muhammad Yusuf al-Binnori is counted among the most famous disciples of al-Imam al-'Allamah Anwar Shah al-Kashmiri. He accompanied and adhered to the imam till he became the custodian of his knowledge and expounder of his scholarly fortune. Shaikh Al-Binnori earned his fame for his contributions in the field of hadith interpretation in the light of the commentaries of Shaikh al-Kashmiri, including Ma'arif al-Sunan Sharh Sunan Al-Tirmidhi (1980). Due to his diligence and attention towards summarising the text, strengthening the expression and its effectiveness on minds with clear and uncomplicated words and due to his efforts in organising it in a beautiful manner and collecting scattered content in a way that helps in memorising and grasping. He summarised the discussion if it spread out or became lengthy. So, he compiled, organised, paraphrased and summarised the knowledge of Shaikh Al- Kashmiri in this book. This thesis attempts to examine Shaikh Binnori's highly intellectual contribution to the commentary of hadith and his position among his contemporaries as well as the methodology he applied in the hadith commentary. For this task, the researcher has used inductive and analytical methodologies. The conclusions that the researcher arrived at, among others, are that Shaikh Al-Binnori deserves to be considered one of the pioneers of this Ummah who have served the sciences of hadith. His methodology in hadith interpretation is distinguished and his style of explanation is flawless, sound and unique.
