Summary: | This dissertation investigates the factors influencing user acceptance of physical access control systems (PACS) in one of law enforcement agency in Malaysia. PACS is a security systems function as an access control that created to restrict physical access to buildings or rooms. In security field, physical access control is one of the most important physical security features that should be implemented in any organizations' building in order to prevent an encroachment from unauthorized person. It comes in various types and the most widely implemented is physical access control using an electronic access card. This system is recognized as an effective systems but it actually depend on the users' acceptance of the systems, which are whether they used it in properly manner or otherwise. Hence, this study focused on investigating the factors that could influence users' acceptance on PACS as a security feature implemented in an organization. In total, 132 PACS users in organization participated in this study in order to find out the determinant factor. The findings of this study shows that out of four factors that been tested, three factors shows positive influence and one factor is not. The significant factors are users' experience, users' perceived importance and users' knowledge, which mean these factors could influence user acceptance of PACS. Meanwhile users' perceived ease of use (PEOU) is not significant. |
