Summary: | The study aims to explore and compare between the foundation stage methods of both Christian Evangelization and Islamic Dawah, and the techniques that the two religions use in spreading their message to their people or others. It attempts to find out to what extent these missionary methods and their techniques go with the declared universality of each message. Also, it tries to measure the inclusiveness of their religious teachings, subjects and methods of evangelization or dawah for all people in all times, ages and places. To achieve his objectives, the researcher used a set of scientific methods. He used the inductive, analytical and deductive methods to identify the methods of evangelization and dawah and techniques. He worked on gathering the proof from the New Testament, the Quran and the Sunnah that refer to the methods of evangelization and dawah. Then, he analysed them and deduced the used methods, techniques, purposes, applications and the religious teachings that the deduced methods address. The descriptive method was also used to describe the biography of the two prophets, the aspects of two prophets' selection, preparation for carrying the Divine Message and the support to spread God's message wanted considering the chronological order. Using the critical method, the researcher also criticizes the view which says that Christianity, in the foundational stage, is an emotional religion that is concerned only with the physical senses. Through the comparative method, the researcher compares between Christian and Islamic missionary methods in the foundation stage. He addresses the features of the two prophets' selection, preparation, support, the different techniques they used to persuade people, and emotional impact. He also compares between the universality and inclusiveness of the two religions messages and teachings to find out to what extent they have that qualify for eternal universality and if they consider the diversity of the target audience. The study primarily shows that both religions are interested in both mental persuasion and emotional impact with different paths to reach the minds and hearts of the target audience. Christianity is a divine religion that did not come to extinguish the light of reason. Christian Missionary Methods have evolved from the foundation stage, from nationality, to controlled universality, to the advent of the message of Islam. Islamic Missionary Methods and teachings are characterised by inclusiveness, universality and achieving of the requirements of the Islamic message eternity. |
