Description
Summary:Tourism and hospitality in contemporary reality are facing the problem, of misconceptions. These include the Islamic law is against tourism and are often misconstrued as killing tourists, blowing them up and destroying which tourist sites. Likewise, tourism is not linked with hospitality. Also, many tourists are not sufficiently aware of the wisdom in mentioning tourism in the Holy Quran and benefiting from it. In addition, tourism and hospitality have not been studied academically by applying a Quranic vision to the contemporary reality to deduce the Lawgiver's purpose in mentioning them in the Holy Quran, and finding solutions to the obstacles that hinder them. Therefore, this study aims to explain the topic of tourism and hospitality by taking the Holy Quran as a basic reference. It attempts to deduce the wisdom in what is stated about them therein and the purposes behind tourism and hospitality. It also aims at understanding and comprehending these human activities as a developmental domain at various levels, including social, cultural and economic, and tries to correct the way the two [terms] are understood. The study aims to highlight some of the prospects for tourism and hospitality, the difficulties they face, and some solutions to those difficulties in the light of the Holy Quran. The study followed the inductive method by collecting Quranic texts and verses that talk about tourism and hospitality, taking advantage of previous studies, books and articles on this topic. It then uses the analytical deductive method to reveal the wisdom and objectivity of the Quran in dealing with tourism and hospitality. The research concluded that tourism and hospitality in some aspects are considered social, cultural, economic and psychological constructs. Their purpose is to improve the individual and society and thus humanity in contemporary reality. Also, it is the Holy Quran that calls for tourism and hospitality, and it has laid down the foundations and supports for developing a Shari'ah-compliant system for them.
