Summary:This study examines the roles and effectiveness of stakeholders in providing education to Filipino refugee children in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This research also investigates the challenges faced by stakeholders in order to provide education to these Filipino refugee children. For this research, data was collected from two schools, Madrasah al-Hikmah in Likas, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and Kg. Numbak Learning Centre in Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu. The data was collected using semi-structured in-depth interviews. The semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with the founder and teachers of Madrasah al-Hikmah and teachers of Kg. Numbak Learning Centre, the officer from the Sabah Task Force and the officer of Jabatan Hal Ehwal Agama Islam Negeri Sabah (JHEAINS). Meanwhile, data was also collected through UNICEF's report. This research applied a thematic analysis on the data collected from interviews. It is found there are different stakeholders who are interested in assisting these Filipino refugee children in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. However, this study has discovered that there is a lack of cooperation between some of the respondents. These respondents are from the government ministry, department state and non-governmental organisations. In conclusion, the contributions and cooperation of the stakeholders are meaningful in order to provide basic education to these Filipino refugee children.
