This study aims to analyse the distribution pattern of Facebook use by women MP's according to their political party affiliation in Malaysia. It also targets to understand how Facebook is used by women MPs to address on gender issues and to examine the factors that influence them to promote gender equality in Malaysia. A qualitative research method is employed in this research as well interviews with women MPs in Malaysian parliament. The analysis presents three empirical evidences. It was found that, women MPs from the ruling and opposition parties tend to fully utilize the Facebook to communicate with their people and constituents. The finding also found that women MPs would not use Facebook to focus on politics and economic issues but instead on gender issues. Third observation through the interview found that there are other factors that contribute to women MPs not promoting gender issues through Facebook in the Malaysian context. The result indicate that women MPs in Malaysia utilize the use of Facebook wisely to communicate with larger audience informatively rather than interactive way of communication but not on the gender issues highlighted on their Facebook pages.
