Summary:IPad has become a new trend in schools and universities around the world. However, the use of iPads as a teaching and learning tool is still new. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of the iPad as a teaching and learning method for beginners in the Arabic language classes. It attempts to understand the effect of this new educational tool on students' motivation, how teachers and students use it in their Arabic language classes, and what are the advantages and disadvantages of using it in a class. This quantitative and qualitative study was conducted by interviewing the Arabic language teachers and by distributing 43 questionnaires to primary four and primary five students of Alsagoff Arab School. The result of the interview showed that iPad helps teachers a lot for ease of use in their teaching, such as using fun education applications to provide information during classes and classroom preparation. IPad is considered as an effective teaching and learning tool in Arabic language classes, especially as it created very notable progress in students' reading and writing skills as well as enable students to learn all the time using the iPad. Despite its success, it may weaken the handwriting skills of students in writing Arabic using the iPad instead of using the electronic pen, especially when they are at a young age and need to learn how to hold pencil to write properly. Positive results were found for all items in determining the impact of iPad in Arabic learning focusing on students' perceptions, students' motivation and participation on using the iPad in the classroom. Finally, the researcher has noted on recommendations and suggestions for possible research in the future
