Description
Summary:The research aims to highlight the concept of vaccination, its history and its origins. Furthermore, explaining the importance of vaccinating children in human life and its compatibility with the Sharia's objectives, exploring the impact of medication to vaccinate children and its necessity, and stating its ruling in light of its benefits and harms. In this research, Indonesia is taken as a model for vaccinating children. The researcher invoked three approaches: the inductive approach, the analytical method, and the field studies. Through the inductive approach, the researcher extrapolated some medical books related to vaccination, and scholars' opinions on the ruling of vaccination and from the Fiqh Councils. Through the analytical method, the researcher analysed the issue of vaccinating children. The last thing the researcher did was to visit the Indonesian Council of Scholars to inquire about vaccination. After a few discussions with the pediatricians in Indonesia about the importance of childhood vaccination, the study concludes with several important results: vaccination of children is important in society to protect oneself from deadly and infectious diseases; childhood vaccination brings several positive impacts for children, parents and the state. Because of its significant population, Indonesia needs to vaccinate its children and it has been begun after independence. Thus, the childhood vaccination is in accordance with the objectives of sharia since it preserves life, lineage and wealth. The researcher is kindly requested to hold the symposium and cooperate with the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia to disseminate information about vaccination's importance. Moreover, the researcher recommends that vaccination importance can be taught in schools and mosques.
