Description
Summary:This study aims to determine the level of language anxiety and the level of oral expression in the Arabic language faced by students and determine the relationship between them. The study was conducted on a sample of 67 students, all of whom were students of the last year in the Department of Arabic Language at the International Islamic University College Selangor (IIUCS). The researcher used a descriptive approach that relies on survey method and describing it quantitatively. The researcher uses the Arabic Foreign Language Anxiety Questionnaires (AFLAQ) that was created by Ibn al-Saraj in 2014 to determine the level of language anxiety. The researcher then conducts a speech test guided by the Avant Arabic Proficiency Test (APT) scale to determine the level of oral expression. Then the researcher analyzes the data using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program to find out the relationship between the level of language anxiety and the level of oral expression with the correlation of Pearson. In addition, the program concludes the standard deviation and an arithmetic mean to determine the most important causes of students' language anxiety. The studies revealed a moderate negative correlation between the level of language anxiety and the level of speaking skill in Arabic. In short, the higher language anxiety students faced, the less likely they are to master oral expression in Arabic.
