This field is considered as crucial in terms of knowing the importance of the role of mediation in resolving disputes by peaceful means, and the leading role of the Sultanate of Oman in this state of affairs. The research consists of five chapters, first chapter dealt with the issue of conflicts that the Middle East suffers from, and the issue of mediation, as one of the peaceful means, and the problem of the Sultanate’s role as a mediator to resolve some Middle East conflicts. In addition to asking research questions, chief among them: What is the role of the Sultanate of Oman in mediating to resolve Middle East conflicts? Explaining the goals, which it advances: To clarify the role played by the Sultanate in mediating to resolve Middle East conflicts. The research adopted two research methods that the researcher followed, which are: the historical method and the descriptive analytical method. The second chapter dealt with the historical position of the Sultanate of Oman and its relationship with its regional and international surroundings. This chapter covered the most important events that affected Oman before and after 1970, how it was able to solve its internal issues, and form a political entity capable of influencing the Gulf region and the Middle East, with an indication of the most prominent Omani mediation. The third chapter deals with conflicts in the Middle East, such as Arab-Iranian, Arab-Israeli and Arab-Arab relations; Which inflamed the Middle East throughout modern history, and the role of the Sultanate of Oman in dealing with it. Then, in the fourth chapter, the research dealt with the Iranian nuclear file; In terms of its importance and impact on the region, and Oman’s leading role in reaching the (5+1) agreement between Iran, the United States of America and Europe, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of Omani mediation, and the extent to which Oman benefits from it. The study reached many results, which were that the Sultanate of Oman was able to be the master of mediation in the region, a land of peace, and a region of conflict resolution in the Middle East. | ||
