Summary: | Although cascading and radial menus are frequently used for interaction, their effectiveness in augmented reality (AR) video feed must be evaluated objectively and subjectively. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the cascading and radial menus in AR video feed. Twenty participants used two different menus in AR video feed on a smartphone to evaluate the menu’s task time completion and usability (learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction). Overall, the cascading menu was more preferred over the radial menu in terms of usability. Statistically, a significant difference was found performance-wise, which indicates that participants are more familiar with cascading menus which contributes to better task time. However, the performance improved the more prolonged the participants got used to the menu when it came to the radial menu. For errors rates, it is found that the radial menu is less errorprone than the cascading menu. |
