Renewable energy investments possess great potential for reducing the consumption of fossil fuels caused by various determinants. This study investigates the individual investors’ renewable energy investments intention within the framework of the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) based on a survey conducted in Johor, Kuala Lumpur and Penang, Malaysia. Risk aversion and evaluation of regulatory framework are further considered to extend the classic TPB model. The results indicate that one’s intention to invest in renewable energy investments is influenced by attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioural control, and evaluation of regulatory framework. The outstanding finding of this study reveals that evaluation of regulatory framework is the most important determinant in predicting renewable energy investments intention. This outcome significantly differs from previous studies that focus on investment behaviours or other types of pro-environmentally intention or behaviours as it provides important practical implications to improve renewable energy investments. 2021-08 Thesis http://shdl.mmu.edu.my/11406/ http://erep.mmu.edu.my/ masters Multimedia University Faculty of Business (FOB) EREP ID: 9884
