Summary:With the rapid growth of mobile Internet technology and the emergence of industry 4.0 as well as the increasing mobility of workforce, it appears to be more prevalent and important to place more attention into the research of mobile knowledge management for organisations to effectively manage knowledge assets. Addressing the aforementioned circumstances, the purpose of this research is to investigate and predict the usage intention of MKMS among employees in Malaysian semiconductor companies by examining the roles of knowledge management critical success factors (i.e. organisational knowledge sharing culture, strategic leadership, and employee training); information system success factors (i.e. system quality, information quality, and service quality); user beliefs (i.e. Perceived MKMS Benefits and Perceived Userfriendly) and mobile technology trait (i.e. perceived ubiquity). A preliminary information gathering was first conducted by interviewing five industry experts from five different semiconductor companies in order to understand the nature of problems and the current status of MKMS implementation. Next, the survey instrument was validated by five industry experts, four subject-matter experts, pre-tested by 11 engineers and then pilot tested on 63 respondents from the IT department at one of the selected semiconductor companies in Melaka. The finalized survey was then distributed to the actual respondents based on non-probability judgmental/purposive sampling to collect the data. The pre-conditions set for this judgmental sampling was that the respondent must have experience in using KMS and must be an engineer. In total, there were 273 valid responses, and the IBM SPSS 28.0 was utilized to perform the first phase of data analysis which is data coding and data cleaning and also to perform the descriptive statistics. To analyse the research model and also to test the developed hypotheses, SmartPLS 4.0 program was employed to examine the measurement model and subsequently structural model. Findings supported the significance association between organisational KS culture, strategic leadership, service quality, and perceived ubiquity with regard to perceived MKMS benefits. On the other hand, only system quality has significance association with perceived userfriendly. Consistent with past research, perceived MKMS benefits and perceived user friendly were found to be positively related to MKMS usage intention with perceived MKMS benefits being a stronger predictor as compared to perceived user-friendly. Additionally, findings on the role of perceived MKMS benefits and perceived userfriendly as mediators revealed that organisational KS culture, strategic leadership, service quality, and perceived ubiquity have significance indirect effect on MKMS usage intention through perceived MKMS benefits. Whereas, perceived user-friendly only mediates the relationship of system quality on MKMS usage intention. This research contributes toward several theoretical, and practical aspects and provides further insights on mobile technology intention in KMS to support knowledge workers such as engineers in semiconductor companies. Theoretical, and practical implications together with limitations of the research were discussed and a few suggestions for future research enhancement were uncovered and recommended. In a nutshell, this research assists to extend the perception on the semiconductor companies use intention of mobile technology in KMS context.
