Previous study acknowledged that souvenirs can represent place, however, the literature on how people perceive souvenirs as representative of place remains unstudied. This study aims to introduce traditional craft to public by identifying the dimensions of place-based craft souvenir and exploring the connections between souvenir and place. Perceived value, place meaning, and satisfaction are used to study how souvenirs represent place. In-depth interviews, observations, and non-participant observations were conducted in Jinan, China, a long history city with lots of traditional craft. Thirty documents were imported into ATLAS.ti software for analysis, which include 15 in-depth interview transcripts, 7newspapers, 2 articles online, 2 videos and 4 books. Sixty concepts emerged via open coding, then categorized under twenty-two sub-dimension in axial coding. Further, seven dimensions (sensuous appreciation, craftsmanship, place linkage, cognitive, affective, place meaning, and satisfaction) were concluded in selective coding. Lastly, these dimensions were categorized under four main themes: place-based craft souvenir, evaluation of souvenir, place meaning, and satisfaction to study the relationship between souvenir and place. 2023-02 Thesis http://shdl.mmu.edu.my/11861/ http://erep.mmu.edu.my/ masters Multimedia University Faculty of Management (FOM) EREP ID: 11571
