Characterisation of Germanium / Aluminium doped silica optical fibres in radioluminescene and optically stimulated luminescence dosimetry

Various tailor-made doped-silica optical fibres are investigated as dosimeters in support of radiotherapy, based on radioluminescence (RL) and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) technology. Investigations focus on the development of these glassy dosimetric media, offering a number of advantages...

Investigations focus on the development of these glassy dosimetric media, offering a number of advantages going well beyond their water impervious nature and excellent spatial resolution (~few microns). Photomultiplier tube (PMT) based RL/OSL reader was assembled on site for radiotheraphy dosimetry using fibre sensors. The results of measurements were compared to the most commonly used RL/OSL material, AI2O3:C chips. 2016-06 Thesis https://shdl.mmu.edu.my/12836/ http://erep.mmu.edu.my/ phd doctoral Multimedia University Faculty of Engineering (FOE) EREP ID: 12259
