Summary:Incompetency of local graduates in problem solving has prompted a special need for Malaysia Education Blueprint for Higher Education 2015-2025 to highlight mechanisms that will improve the higher education students’ problem-solving skills via online problem-based learning in teaching and learning. This research aims to evaluate the extent to which the characteristics of industry experts help in empowering problem solving among student with a moderating effect of e-privacy. Furthermore, this study identifies how the characteristics of industry experts empower students’ problem-solving skills by providing structural empowerment, with e-privacy acting as a moderator. In sum, the objectives of this study are as follows. Firstly, this study aims to examine the role individual characteristics in structural empowerment. Secondly, this study aims to determine if e-privacy moderates the relationship between the individual characteristics and structural empowerment.
