Summary: | The importance of optical fibers as the fastest medium to transfer data has long been discovered. Due to its many advantages it has been deployed widely in the infrastructure of core communications networks around the world. The advancement of this waveguides are important as their function in integrated circuits and in transmission in the optical spectrum is crucial. Due to the growing interest to improve waveguides the study of the mode behavior is essential. Motivated by the success of implementing helix structure in the travelling wave tube in the microwave range, this structure has been introduced into fiber optics. Optical waveguides that incorporate helix structure between the core and cladding interface are complex waveguides that have unique mode behaviour. |
