GBSAR has been proven to be an effective technique for monitoring surface displacements associated with mass movements such as landslides, glaciers, and volcanic risks. This work focuses on the design and development of a new GBSAR system for land deformation monitoring in Malaysia. The GBSAR is designed and developed inhouse using the fundamental theory of radar. To accomplish the necessary measurement capability and precision, all necessary GBSAR design criteria are revisited and reviewed. A new miniaturized Radio Frequency (RF) transceiver module is designed and built on a printed circuit board (PCB). The performance of the RF transceiver has been evaluated and compared with a connectorized discrete RF module. Further, a series of field experiment has been conducted to verify the overall performance of the GBSAR. The developed GBSAR is currently used for surface deformation monitoring at selected sites in Malaysia. 2022-12 Thesis https://shdl.mmu.edu.my/12866/ http://erep.mmu.edu.my/ phd doctoral Multimedia University Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) EREP ID: 12290 |
