DMAIC approach for fold reduction in manufacturing of optical lens

Six Sigma implementation has been reported in numerous manufacturing industries. Although many successful cases have been reported, somehow these cases are mostly dealing with variable type of data, attribute data is rarely being discussed. The study aims to apply DMAIC methodology, tools and techni...

Although many successful cases have been reported, somehow these cases are mostly dealing with variable type of data, attribute data is rarely being discussed. The study aims to apply DMAIC methodology, tools and techniques in resolving attribute type of data case study. This thesis describes a successful Six Sigma project and contributes to knowledge by adopting a systematic solution methodology reported in the literature and uses it to provide a solution to a real-industrial problem. As a result, the thesis contributes by providing evidence that DMAIC is suitable to provide a solution to a generic problem faced by the optical industry. 2012-05 Thesis http://shdl.mmu.edu.my/5535/ http://library.mmu.edu.my/diglib/onlinedb/dig_lib.php masters Multimedia University Faculty of Engineering and Technology
