| Summary: | This thesis examines the factors associated with the existence of RMC among public listed companies in Malaysia. Specifically, this study explores the association between the existence of RMC and board attributes, such as the board independence, CEO duality, board size, board directorship, board meeting and board expertise. Six hypotheses were developed and tested in this study. Data was collected from annual reports of all companies listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia for the financial year ended 2009, except those companies which belong to the financial industry as they are subject to a different regulatory environment. |
