Summary:The resource allocation such as Call Admission Control (CAC) and calls distribution which are managed by these networks are also an important challenge. It is thus the objectives of this study to investigate and address these two key issues by designing and implementing a seamless mobility solution that take advantage of IP-based technologies to achieve global roaming, and designing as well as simulating a resource allocation scheme for managing the resources in the wireless network. The prototype implementation of a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based mobile client application shall be developed to study and address the issues of performing seamless mobility between heterogeneous networks. The objectives are to ensure there is minimum (or zero) packet loss during mobility, no user-perceived performance degradation on the audio application which runs on Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and also to perform handover with the shortest delay.
