Summary:Today, even after hundreds of years, fear is still present in most organizations, terrifying the authorities and employees. Organizational fear has become a barrier that prevents employees from realizing their full potential as well as decreases individual effectiveness at work. Fear negatively impacts employee performance such as un-motivated employees at the workplace, creates a silent culture, delays decision-making, leading to job dissatisfaction, reduces productivity, and prevents innovativeness and development in the organization. However, increasing competition in the world market today causes organizations to be more demanding of employees who are expected to have more initiative at jobs, able to voice out and accept responsibility due to intense competition in various industries. The aim of this study is to determine the factors of organizational fear that influences the effective performance for employees who are fresh graduates. In this study, five related factors will be tested namely, childhood socialization, institutional socialization, cultural socialization, fear of workplace penalty and fear of being terminated from work. This study will be carried out by distributing structured questionnaires to employees who are fresh graduates. Throughout this study, it may assist organizations in understanding and identifying the factors of organizational fear that influence effective performance. Moreover, this study enables the organization to implement solutions to eliminate fear among employees for better performance in achieving individual and company goals.
