Investigation Of Corner Reflector On Microstrip Antenna

A corner reflector antenna is made up of two finite metal plates connected at an angle, typically 90 degrees. A feed antenna usually a dipole antenna, is used as the radiating element in a corner reflector. Corner reflector is used to direct the emanated waves from the feed to a desire direction. Pr...

A feed antenna usually a dipole antenna, is used as the radiating element in a corner reflector. Corner reflector is used to direct the emanated waves from the feed to a desire direction. Properties of the radiation pattern are affected by the presence of the corner reflector. The two main factors are: (1) the apex angle formed by the plates, and (2) the distance of the feed antenna to the vertex. In this work, square-corner reflector is selected to further the investigation. The analysis of corner reflector antenna is usually performed using method-of-images. However, in method-of-images the ground plate is assumed to be of infinite extent. This leads to inaccurate prediction of the radiation properties of corner reflector antennas. These inaccuracies are more profound in the case of feed-to-vertex spacing of more than 0.7λ, where λ denotes the wavelength. 2016-09 Thesis http://shdl.mmu.edu.my/7161/ http://library.mmu.edu.my/diglib/onlinedb/dig_lib.php masters Multimedia University Faculty of Engineering
