Summary:Job satisfaction and job performance had been labelled as the “Holy Grail” of industrial/organisational psychology and there has been a long debate on the relationship between satisfaction-performance. In Malaysia, the employment rate of professionals had increased; however, their work satisfaction had declined. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and job performance among professional Accountants in Malaysia. In addition, this study proposed an extended research framework inclusive of three factors: Employee Engagement (EE), Psychological Empowerment (PE) and Life Satisfaction (LS) as antecedent factors to Job Satisfaction (JS), leading to Job Performance (JP). Purposive sampling method was used in this study to obtain meaningful data. The results of the study were derived through Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) for descriptive statistical analysis and Analysis of MOment structures (AMOS) for Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). For instance, the two steps modeling approach was used; specifically the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to assess the measurement model validity and structural equation modeling (SEM) for specifying and assesses the structural model‟s validity.
