First, the optimal experimental settings towards establishing a suitable experimental template for conducting dielectrophoretic characterisation experiments of MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells on a curved microelectrode platform were determined. Second, the dielectrophoretic characterisation of MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells in different DMEM suspending medium concentrations on a curved microelectrode platform using the experimental template was established. Third, the dielectrophoretic responses and morphological changes of the MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells from the dielectrophoretic characterisation experiments were analysed with the help of electric field simulation of microenvironment conditions and analysis of cell diameter measurements. 2019-09 Thesis http://shdl.mmu.edu.my/7732/ http://library.mmu.edu.my/library2/diglib/mmuetd/ masters Multimedia University Faculty of Engineering & Technology
