Description
Summary:Wavelength Conversion is one of the methods to improve the network performance by manupulating the wavelengths in a network. Optical node performance analysis in terms of number of wavelength converters for regular multi-hop optical networks employing hot-potatto routing has been carried out. A general algorithm for wavelength conversion with limited wavelength converters has been proposed in this research. Based on the proposed model and algorithm, deflection probability, link utilization, distribution of hops are calculated. Simulations have also been carried out in order to compare with the computed result, and the results agree with the analytical results.
