Preparation plga microparticles by using an oil-in water (O/W) solvent evaporation technique / Intan Shafiza Romli
The objectives of this study was to prepare poly (DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) microparticles by using an oil-in-water (0/W) solvent evaporation technique and to investigate the effect of preparations parameters on the morphology and particles size of PLGA. Size of microparticles were affected by...

Size of microparticles were affected by concentration of stabilizer poly(vinylalcohol), influenced by speed of propeller and effect of temperature of adding water. The produced microparticles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and Mastersizer. The mean particle size of PLGA microparticles ranges from 31.56 to 136.99 µm, depending on the various parameters used in the evaporation method. The yield of microparticles by solvent evaporation method was evaluated under various operating conditions. As concentration of PY A increases from 0.2 to 1 %, the percent yield of PLGA microparticles kept increases. For all preparations reported from this study the microspheres were spherical in shape and very few pores were observed on the external surfaces under large magnification but distribution of particles is not so good were observed under low magnification. Therefore, the particle size of PLGA-based delivery systems does not only depend on its own physic-chemical properties used, but also to a large extent on the speed and shape of device. 2008 Thesis https://ir.uitm.edu.my/id/eprint/101088/ https://ir.uitm.edu.my/id/eprint/101088/1/101088.PDF text en public degree Universiti Teknologi MARA (Kampus Puncak Alam) Faculty of Pharmacy Sameni, Javad |
