Summary:Thesis research is a studying focusing on the effectiveness of using picture cards in teaching and learning vocabulary. This research objectives is to proof the effectiveness of using the picture cards in improving the English vocabulary knowledge for the students of the Year 3 Gemilang of Sekolah Kebangsaan Jambu Law ar. 31 students of the year 3 Gemilang have been chosen as the respondents of this research. The instruments used are pre-test, questionnaires and post-test. The result of the mean test is from 49.54 to 62.87. Based on the pre-test and post-test analysis, the picture cards method can improve the students achievement and raise up their interest in learning as well as create interesting and fun learning. The result of this research is proof that the picture cards method has successfully help the students improving their English vocabulary knowledge.
