总结:This research is designed to investigate the effectiveness of the Schema Theory in facilitating reading comprehension of thirty Form Four Limited English Proficiency (LEP) students at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Belara, Kuala Terengganu. This research aimed at finding the most effective activity of the Schema Theory and its implications on the students. This research applied the pre test and post test method in determining the effectiveness of the Schema Theory activities. The treatment sessions took about one and a half months. The findings showed that the schema theory is effective in facilitating reading comprehension among the LEP students in rural schools. It was apparent through the data analysis, the results showed significant improvement in the students' scores. The semantic mapping strategy and brainstorming strategy were observed to be the most effective pre-reading activities. The students participated actively towards the activities carried out. There were several implications that could be derived from the research namely the responsibilities of the teacher to opt for the best approach on a reading model, to implement suitable pre reading activities, to carefully select the appropriate texts and also to consider the best way to approach reading texts
