Summary:Students have to choose the right career after their graduation. Nowadays, many fresh graduates that were enrolled in their career are not based on what field they studied and even worst, many of them are unemployed. Thus, to avoid this from happening, students should have the criteria that the organization or company is looking for. Therefore, this research adopts Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method to rank the most preferred factor for the students should have. Four important criteria have been considered in this research which are, work characteristics, personal preferences, soft skills and job training. In this project, the decision makers are the fresh graduates that work from both public and private sector and they were asked to answer the questionnaire provided. As the result, the study stated that soft skill is the most preferred factor that the student should have to apply for work after they graduated. As the conclusion, this research may be beneficial to undergraduates and postgraduates students as a motivation to start preparing themselves in order to choose a career that fit to their capabilities, academics achievements and skills once they have graduated soon.
