Summary:This research has been conducted in order to examine the effectiveness of learning through imitation with Carl Orff approach in order to increase respondents' mastery towards playing percussion instruments. There were four respondents in this tesearch who were having problem in playing percussion instruments. They could not play the instrument correctly and were not able to follow the beat of the song although playing percussion instruments are the main element that pupils should master in music education. The researcher decided that this problem should be coped. Hence, the researcher conducted a research related to this problem. Based from the data collected through observation, questionnaire and interview, the researcher analyse all the data. Findings of this research shown that the respondents had shown improvement in playing the percussion instruments. About three Music Master teacher involved in observing the effectiveness of this research. Based on the results, it has been proven that the use of imitation technique which has been introduced by Carl Orff are able to help the respondent in mastering the playing of percussion instruments skill in Music education. In conclusion, an effective teaching and learning session could be produced if the teachers are dedicated, innovative, think critically and creatively and honest in teaching.
