Summary: | Generator is important aspect in ensuring efficiency level of any building. Currently, there are many existing building that fully utilized generator set as source of energy. Even Malaysia as a country, which has corporatized Lembaga Elektrik Negara (LLN) to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) because of they have realize the potential of electricity needs for the nation growth. Besides, Malaysia has once been shocked by Nation’s 1997 blackout. Generator set is generating electricity in standby situation for building. In narrower scope, the importance of generator set is much alike the TNB sub-station with exception that the generator set only provided the electricity energy recovery during power interruption or during sub-station maintenance. Therefore, the main objective of this dissertation is to evaluate the case study in aspect of the life cycle cost: ,the cost of maintenance and testing per generator set, the manpower use in maintenance and testing per generator set, time spent for maintenance and testing per generator set. Aside from that, the secondary objective also carried together in this research with data collection from the sample generator set on these matters, to study about privatization in Malaysia especially for hospital maintenance management.
