| Summary: | The important of conservation of historic shophouses is one of the methods to maintain the historical value and attract more tourists to see the old architecture and unique heritage and history of the leave. Conservation is also intended to ensure continued protection of heritage. So, it erupt an idea to conduct a dissertation entitled "historical shophouses in buffer zone of Melaka City. The objective of this dissertation is to determine the issues and problems of historical shophouses in Buffer Zone area in Melaka City, determine the shophouses that can be considered for conservation and make a proposal solution for issues and problems. To achieve the objective, there is many ways to conducted. Start from do a research regarding the conservation, historical shophouses and the Melaka shophouses. Then, the research through the process of pilot survey at the case study area to get an initial impression about the objectives of study. The next process is study in detailing and collect the actual data. There are many shophouses looked too barren and need a proper conservation works to standardize the building at the conservation area. The recommendation of this problems is make a proper guideline of conservation at the buffer zone area and local authority need to help building owner to be responsible of their building. |
