The paper will first analyse the need to the industrialised Malaysian housing industry with the main discussions cantered around the existing conditions and the future prospects for the construction and housing industry, its performance and the quality, time and cost. Following this, the paper will discuss the previous experience with industrialisation in the country, introduction, development, the advantages and disadvantages. Finally, the paper will explore the feasibility of a particular way to initiate the industrialisation of the housing industry using formwork system that will ensure both its success and solve the current urgent low cost housing needs in the country.
